As an active birth teacher and yoga teacher for the pre & postnatal experience, for the past 25 years, I have held space for countless circles of women as they prepared for birth and motherhood. I trained and then further developed my approach under the umbrella of the Active Birth Centre which I ran as co-director for many years alongside Janet Balaskas.
Quite early on I added Baby Massage & Movement to my offerings, the importance of the mother & baby dyad has always been at the centre of what I offer in my sessions with new mothers and parents. I use my experiences as not only a teacher of many years, but also a mother and now nanna to two, to provide mothers with the space to be nurtured and heard and the opportunity to listen to their bodies, themselves, and their babies.
My yoga is Scaravelli inspired, focusing on the idea that less (effort) brings more (ease), and that our bodies are always learning and evolving. The space we enter in yoga is a place to become more in touch with ourselves and breathe. I believe this same approach can also be applied to parenting our babies. Babies are a great source of education to us all, when we watch our babies with curiosity, we can learn so much that will help us better respond to their needs.
I bring all the above into my training of other professionals and mentoring of mothers.
I am pleased to offer both Birth Debrief and TBR 3 Step Rewind to help those of you struggling after trauma in the perinatal period to help you move towards a more positive future where you can appreciate you are a ‘good enough’ mum just as you are.
