Hi, I’m Kate, living and working in Kingston upon Thames in SW London. I bring together 15 years of experience as a transition coach with my maternity world experience – as a birth doula for a decade, antenatal teacher and now continuity of carer midwife within the NHS. I have a particular interest in perinatal mental health for both men and women, and recovery from trauma for the sake of couples surviving and families thriving.
I facilitate an annual Hold Me Tight relationship course in the community with my husband, rooted in the same science of attachment and connection which provides the basis for the Circle of Security parenting course I also lead.
I am currently writing a book for midwives due to be published in October 2022 called Flourish: a practical and emotional guidebook to thriving in midwifery, addressing the experience and transmission of trauma in the maternity context. I have seen the power of TBR 3 Step Rewind process in midwives and parents alike, and would love to support you towards a lighter future.
Kate is warm, kind, present, generous, and an attentive listener. She makes me feel at ease and I knew this was the environment I needed to do this kind of emotion work. Kate made me feel very supported throughout our 3 sessions and relaxed enough for the rewind technique to really work! Replaying the moment we had chosen to concentrate on over and over again in slighltly different ways in a meditative/hypnotic type state took the power out of those memories and the thoughts those memories had brought up for me almost every day.
